Palabras Mágicas
In the beginning was the word
Many religious texts talk about, The word. They say plainly that, in the beginning there was The Word; before everything was the word. Egyptians believed that word possessed immense magical power. For many ancient civilizations, word usage was not only for conveying ideas and feelings; words were also expressions of force that would manifest into physical reality.
For indigenous Peoples of North and South America, words and songs hold magical healing powers. Song, words set to music, is thought to be even more powerful than words alone. I am sure this is due to the effect the frequency of music has on humans. Let us save that for another day. There are words in many native languages that weave the physical realm with the spiritual realm in a way that does not translate into any other language. A beautiful example of this, is the Nahuatl word apapachar, given to the Spanish. When loosely translated into English, it means to spoil or to cuddle. The closest definition to the actual meaning is to embrace or caress with the soul.
I give you that background to impress upon you the importance of our words. Even if people are unaware that they know, they understand this. Words alone have power. When used positively, our thoughts and spoken words can bless others.
Peace to you
Love and Light
You have my blessing
I forgive you
These powerful words, when manifested, have positive effects on their recipients. However, this is a double-edged sword. When hurt, shamed, threatened, or needing to get the final word, we sometimes reach for the same weapon we use to love and bless; The Word.
I hate you
I hope you die
Go to Hell
When used this way, our words become spells. Hexes that may damn or condemn others that have fallen out of our good graces. When backed into a corner, cursing a person calls on the most ancient of powers, and the more emotional energy behind our words, the more powerful they will be. This revelation is why it is imperative that we use our words impeccably and with love.
When we know better, we do better! I think it would be better to say when we know better, we speak better. If you are reading this, you have a responsibility; to be mindful of your words. Take great care of the vocables you allow to cross your lips and thus create. Even in anger, we have a duty to remain mindful and present. Access to this comes with our breath. Breathing is the key to staying present amidst heightened emotions.
The ability to speak is a superpower. You have always had it, even if you are just now learning the depth of its impact. How will you choose to wield your power? Will it be to bless or to curse?
Enjoy the day that YOU manifest,
Kema
Hey Queen!
